Learn How To Make Carbon Fiber Parts

From The Pro's Who Build IndyCars For Andretti, Aircraft For Boeing, And Much More...

A few years ago I got a call from my Dad…

In a few basic words he asked “do you want to quit your job and and build an airplane with me?”

It’s not an everyday question you get…He filled me in on the details… like what kind of plane we would build (an all carbon fiber and fiberglass kitplane), how long it would take, how I could quit my job, and everything else I needed to know.

I had to talk it over with my girlfriend…and a long-story short…we decided to do it. Life is too short to miss out on such an opportunity. Who else gets the chance to build an airplane?

It wasn’t easy, but I convinced the experts to share their secrets with you…

Little did I know that this was the beginning of a long journey that has led me here, to a passion for sharing knowledge.

You see, the aircraft I was going to build with my Dad was a Ravin 500, an all fiberglass and carbon fiber kitplane, literally like a giant version of a scale model airplane that I used to glue together and hang from the ceiling as a kid.

A few short years ago I knew absolutely nothing about composites, fiberglass, or carbon fiber…literally nothing…and I wanted to share everything I’ve learned so that others wouldn’t have to suffer through years of “learning through trial and error”.

Why Listen To Me?

Good Question (I should know, I wrote it, ha!). The quick answer is that you don’t have to. You can click-away from this site and never return. However, if you give me a chance, I honestly want to share with you what I’ve learned about making professional carbon fiber and composite parts that stand up to any test (like routine 75 G crashes!). I want to do this because it honestly downright sucks not knowing what your doing, where to start, or even how to master the craft. There’s simply not a good source of reliable and up-to-date information.

Desiree-My Girlfriend-Helping Out With A Wet Layup…Which Is The Wrong Way To Do It I Found Out Later On! Well, maybe not wrong, but it’s not the best way.

When I started to learn about how to make carbon fiber parts, I put myself on a pretty steep learning curve and within a few years I slowly gained access to and learned from top experts.

In that time I created a business building composite aircraft and even started another business that helped develop and sell an all carbon fiber aircraft called the LP1 aircraft that is designed to do 385mph with a corvette engine with a carbon fiber prop speed reduction box (you can google it if you want, or see pictures below).

It took me about 5 years to get where I am now. It was alot of work and getting the right information from the experts on how they make composite parts was like pulling teeth with my bare hands!

But…that’s why I am where I am today. It’s also why, all along, I always told myself that this information is way to valuable for such expert craftsmen to keep all to themselves.

If you’re interested in learning how to make carbon fiber parts, or work with fiberglass and other composites but you just don’t know where to start or who to trust…then I’ve been exactly where you stand. There’s so many people that claim to be experts and so much information and mis-information! My goal is to put an end to that and help those of you who just want to make things…awesome things : )
